Don Keke Talks With Murder Dog Magazine

Y'all can check out Don KeKe in the current issue of Murder Dog Magazine. He talks about how his latest album "It Was All A Dream" is doing great.

He says "We got a lotta major deals comin off that. And I just started my own record label, Commission Music. My first group comin out is with me and Lil C The Underboss, the group's called Texas Mafia. Look out for that album to come out in April of 2000."

He still with Jam Down though, Commission Music and Texas Mafia is just his own independent project. He also talks a little about the major deals that Jam Down Records been getting from major distributors.

He says "We got two or three labels on the table right now--MCA, we done some talkin with Elektra, did a lotta talkin with Def Jam--we tryna wait till we get to maybe 300,000 before we take the deal." He said so far he's past 200,000 copies sold.

There is a defefinite buzz in the streets for Lil Keke. All you need is that major push.

It's comin. Mark my work, the next time we talk it'll be different. You'll be puttin me on the cover of Murder Dog. And I'm gonna love it. I'll be ready for you in a minute. I's October right now. January everything will be right in place. By April I'll be right where I need to be. I know the deal will be finalized comin up wih a new album. And the next solo album that I do will definitely be on a major. It's not a question, the next KeKe album will be on the major.

Right now you must be anxious to see how this major deal comes together.

If the deal relies on my skill it's gonna happen. If they put in the work to push my skill it's gonna go. That's what we're lookin for right now. All this money is good, but the money is not concerning me. If they don't have a push or major street promotion where they're thinkin on platinum, that's all I care about right now. I'm lookin for a team, I'm lookin for somebody that's gonna push. Cause I know I got the skill. I'm not just tryin to get some money so i can quit, I'm tryin to establish something. I'm 23, I feel that when I'm 25 I'm gonna be just right.

Hypnotize Camp/Prophet Posse Compilation

No other group seems to actually blissfully celebrate ignorance quite like the Hypnotize Camp Posse. If you find this hard to believe, take one listen to the Three 6 Mafia Presents Hypnotize Camp Posse compilation album and witness the demonic celebration yourself. On the Memphis crew's latest release, the get-buck bandits introduce their new stable of artists as well as showcase current Hypnotize Camp members like Project Pat, Killa Klan, Three 6 Mafia and Gangsta Boo.

From the opening introduction of the album on, it's time to turn your brain off and zone out to some hellafied production courtesy of DJ Paul and Juicy J. Much like Mannie Fresh of Cash Money fame, DJ Paul and Juicy J are the sole providers of beats for the Hypnotize crew, and they know just what tracks fit their artists to perfection. "We 'Bout To Ride" is a bouncy posse cut that eventually pulls you in with its slow, dark funk and haunting background vocals. An unidentified member of Three 6 Mafia proves the point of the crew's sheer insanity by explaining, "ignorance be my manners." However, the total disregard for intelligence doesn't stop there, as Juicy J and Gangsta Boo drop what is sure to be an instant Dirty South club burner with "Ass & Titties." Just hear Gangsta Boo make all lustful males think twice about hollering at her when she raps, "I be the bitch that make you niggaz hate these ass and titties!" Georgia's own Pastor Troy stops by on the head nodding "Big Mouth, Big Talk," and "Die A Soldier," with its brooding bassline and symphonic violins, re-affirming the Hypnotize crew's devotion to the trife life.

Besides a bevy of shameless promotional skits (the crew actually advertises current and upcoming Hypnotize projects with the shameless gall of a late night Infomercial.), the album's prevailing uncouthness and tired subject matter, Three 6 Mafia Presents Hypnotize Camp Posse makes it up with piercing production: These beats are guaranteed to blow out 12-inch speakers in any ride and will have many of the crew's fans still "tearing the club up." However, if doing a "Drive By," messing with "Project Hoes" or getting ready to "Fie It On Up" isn't your thing, this album will probably be just as useless as a $2 bill.

My Review: Mane, I know this mufuka iz gonna be of da heezy. Shiiit, I can't wait!!!
